It's important to note that running the entire Blue Ridge Parkway in consecutive days has been accomplished once before (only once to my knowledge). Actually, the feat was far better than just running the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Don Lister ran 574 miles including both the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive, Front Royal VA to Cherokee NC. This heroic accomplishment was done in just 17½ days in August 2011 when Don was 67 years old.
Here's a story about his amazing run... http://www.blueridgenow.com/article/20110829/ARTICLES/108291008
I cannot begin to compete with Don's accomplishment. My hats are off to him. We have exchanged emails, and I have asked him to run the last few miles with me in June. I would be honored for him to be there and simply be on what will always be a very short list--people who have run the entire Blue Ridge Parkway.
Congratulations on this heroic effort Ray!
Run Ray run! How awesome of you to do this and share the experience. Happy trials!!
